Catalina Renjifo's ongoing practice encompasses experimental sculpture, drawing and photography. Her interest in meaning and knowledge is combined with digestive making, weaves between traditionally domestic methods and contemporary art practices. The resulting works subvert conventional roles of materials to allude to notions of comfort, habits of consumption, waste and identity, often exploring themes of intimacy and nostalgia. The pieces maintain a connection with the scale, sites and experience of the human body. Catalina's work stems from documenting and observing her making process and sculptural installation works aim to capture the fleeting realisations of performing practice.
